Who was on the internal scrutiny board?

The council set up a Safeguarding and Children in Care Project Management Board in March 2010, chaired by Gillian Beasley, to oversee improvements in children’s services.

Other members included: John Richards; cabinet members Sheila Scott and John Holdich; then assistant director for safeguarding Andrew Brunt; and representatives from the Department for Education (DFE), NHS Peterborough, Go East and Peterborough Safeguarding Children Board (PSCB).

But following another Ofsted inspection in August 2011, it was clear that the improvements had not been made and the board was changed to the Children’s Social Care External Improvement Board, chaired by independent Jane Held.

Other members include Ms Beasley; Cllrs Scott and Holdich; local headteacher Mike Sandeman; and representatives from police, PSCB, DFE and NHS Peterborough.
