Agency growth just the ticket for Laura
CITY boutique-style travel agency Travelandmore has appointed a new business development manager to head its expansion programme.
Laura Donaldson will be responsible for facilitating new growth opportunities for the travel business – which was established 20 years ago – as it looks to expand its operations in 2012.
As part of her role, Laura will also manage all international business travel, including the co-ordination of foreign conferences and events held by customers.
Prior to joining the Werrington-based company, Laura worked as part of the events team at major Peterborough insurance business BGL Group. While there Laura helped to manage annual awards balls for more than 1,000 employees, as well as international conference travel to destinations including Istanbul, Venice and China.
She began her career in the travel industry and previously spent two years working for Travelandmore before moving to specialise in events management.
Alan Holt, managing director of Travelandmore, said: “The travel market has been extremely volatile in recent years so it is vital that any business operating in this market continues to evolve and look for new opportunities.
“Travelandmore is already a trusted travel provider for many local people and businesses, so we are keen to exceed our customers’ expectations in every aspect of how they do business with us and take the company to a fantastic new level of growth.
“With her proven track record in both the travel and events arena, Laura will play a pivotal role in helping to drive forward our ongoing business development plans.”
Laura said: “Travelandmore already has a very strong reputation for delivering personalised travel options, which is extremely powerful in such a competitive and commoditised industry.
“Having worked for Travelandmore a few years ago, I was already familiar with the company and following significant growth within its business travel activity, there are so many directions the company could expand which is very exciting.”
