Snapper takes home photo prize
AN ASPIRING photographer from Yaxley has won top prize in a Farcet studio’s latest training course.
Photous Photography, which operates from The Old School in Main Street, Farcet, ran the six-week intermediate photography course recently.
The winner of the Intermediate training course was Andrew Terrell from Yaxley with his winning photograph of a night-time shot of Glasgow, from when he was in Scotland on holiday.
Richard Houghton, who runs Photous Photography, said: “He took a great shot of a night-time scene of Glasgow.
“It was an aperture of f22, which is a small opening - gave a greater depth of field to make it sharp and also made the streetlights look like they were stars. There were also dramatic light trails from the cars because he had set a good exposure.
“All of the participants were all good - the standard is making it harder and harder to pick a winner.”
Photous Photography offers a wide range of courses designed to assist both the novice and the more experienced photographer.
The next one is the Advanced course for people with greater knowledge of their camera, its settings and the effects these can create.
This six-week course starts on June 7 from 7.30pm to 9.30pm. It costs £20 per session, or £110 in advance.
There will also be future An Introduction to Digital Cameras courses that costs £15 per session, or £80 in advance as well as a beginners’ class which will cost £12 per session, or £62 in advance.
There are no confirmed dates yet for these classes.
