Fashion show raises hundreds for Samaritans

-

A FASHION show organised by a shop in Yaxley has raised more than £600 for charity.

Sue Allbright, owner of Circles of Yaxley, in Chapel Street, put on the fashion parade by setting up a catwalk in Peterborough Town Hall, in Bridge Street, for her 10 models to show-off the clothes on sale in her shop.

She has regular fashion shows to raise money for good causes. Sue decided to donate the proceeds raised to the Samaritans after the charity’s fund-raising committee member and Circles of Yaxley customer Anita Patchett approached her.

She said: “She asked if we would do the fashion show for them and I thought it sounded like a really good idea.

“It went really well. We had over 100 people in the crowd and I think the only man there was Anita’s husband Ian, who was helping the models off the stage.

“The models all wore nine outfits each, which all came from the shop. There was everything from casual to mother of the bride and evening wear.”

Anita added: “In total £675 was raised, which is really helpful. We are always trying to raise funds through collections and events.

“There was a very good atmosphere in the fashion show.” she’s in fashion: Isabella Castle (16) wearing a prom dress at the Circles of Yaxley fashion show in the Town Hall. (METP-09-05-12AS020)
