Alien star in Peter­bor­ough

As­tar of the sil­ver screen ar­rived in Peter­bor­ough for a fly­ing visit last week. John Hurt, best known­for his role in one of the most iconic scenes in sci­ence fic­tion when­his char­ac­ter Kane died in 1979 block­buster Alien, spent time in the city on Fri­day, Jan­uary 4 while his wife, Anne Mey­ers picked up a pass­port from the Pass­port Of­fice. MrHurt, whowasac­com­pa­nied by his dog, Pilchard, as he took in the sights and sounds of Cathe­dral Square and Long Cause­way, has be­come a firm­favourite on the small screen in re­cent times with his role as the dragon in BBCseries Mer­lin.
