Musical pupils putonanentertainingshow
Talented pupils at a Peterborough primary school thrilled their audience at a violin and cello concert and plan to do a repeat performance in the spring.
Thirtypupilsagedbetween seven and eight performed in front of parents and teachers at Woodston Primary School.
They had been learning to play the instrumentsforsome time with the help of trained cellists from the music programme, Wider Opportunities, who came in weekly to teach them.
Jo Whitlam, year three teacher at the school, said: “Everyweektheteacherswere absolutely brilliant.
“Therewasalotofplucking andbowinggoingonthroughout.”
Students took part in the sameconcert in 2011 and they are hoping to entertain their audience again at the end of the spring term, sometime in March.
Mrs Whitlam added: “The concert was even better than previously. The children have beenpractising very hard and reallyenjoyedthemselvesduring the concert.
