Mu­si­cal pupils pu­to­na­nen­ter­tain­ing­show

Tal­ented pupils at a Peter­bor­ough pri­mary school thrilled their au­di­ence at a vi­o­lin and cello con­cert and plan to do a re­peat per­for­mance in the spring.

Thir­ty­pupil­saged­be­tween seven and eight per­formed in front of par­ents and teach­ers at Wood­ston Pri­mary School.

They had been learn­ing to play the in­stru­ments­for­some time with the help of trained cel­lists from the mu­sic pro­gramme, Wider Op­por­tu­ni­ties, who came in weekly to teach them.

Jo Whit­lam, year three teacher at the school, said: “Every­week­theteach­er­swere ab­so­lutely bril­liant.

“There­wasa­lotof­pluck­ing and­bow­ing­goin­gonthrough­out.”

Stu­dents took part in the samecon­cert in 2011 and they are hop­ing to en­ter­tain their au­di­ence again at the end of the spring term, some­time in March.

Mrs Whit­lam added: “The con­cert was even bet­ter than pre­vi­ously. The chil­dren have been­prac­tis­ing very hard and re­al­lyen­joyedthem­selves­dur­ing the con­cert.
