Young­sters spy­hol­i­day fu­natleisure cen­tre

Young 007s- to- be swapped English and maths for a les­son in es­pi­onage as part of a range of hol­i­day ac­tivites at Wer­ring­ton Leisure Cen­tre.

Chil­dren aged from five to 11 had the chance to be a spe­cial agent for the day, learn­ing such skills as gad­get mak­ing and code break­ing, while also tak­ing part in ob­ser­va­tion and ob­sta­cle chal­lenges.

It was one of a num­ber of full- day ses­sions held at the cen­tre last week, with oth­ers ded­i­cated to dance, in­door foot­ball, crime scene in­ves­ti­ga­tion and sports such as dodge­ball and fenc­ing.

Sports Xtra di­rec­tor Sara Strid- Cough­lan, who said the ses­sions had been a success, said: “They give kids the chance to do new things and learn some new skills and, of course, have fun - that’s the main thing.

“It also serves as child care for par­ents as it’s a full day of ac­tiv­i­ties.”
