Captains drive- in at new cuty club

There’s a newgolf club doing the rounds in Peterborough this year. OnJanuary 1, Thorpe Wood Golf Club and Orton Meadows Golf Club were merged to become Nene Park Golf Club. Andthe 2013 captains of the newclub - Steve Watson ( men), Carol Alban and Joyce Fisher ( ladies) and David Asher ( seniors) - were officially sworn in on Saturday at the Captains’ Drive- In. Watson meanwhile has qualified for a national final to be played at the prestigious Aphrodite Hills Golf Resort in Cyprus later this month. The seven- handicapper was one of 10 qualifiers to make the final after playing on the Amateur ‘ GTourRace to Cyprus’ throughout 2012.
