Davide Petrucci and Scott Wootton will not be the last new signings Posh make in the January transfer window.

The two 21- year- olds have moved to Posh on loan from Manchester United, but manager Darren Ferguson is also confidentofathirdnewrecruit, although not before Saturday’s Championship trip to Notting- ham Forest.

Ferguson said: “We needed some new faces and I’m very happy to have Scott and Davide. Both are very good footballers which you’d expect as they play for Manchester United and both should be able to make an impact in the Championship.

“We’vedonereally well with our loan signings this season as George Thorne and Dwight Gayle were exceptional and I hope these two will be just as successful.

“I’m very happy to have the deals sorted so early in the transfer window andI’mveryhopeful we will have another signing soon. It will be a permanent signing.” Ferguson has ruled out a move for Manchester United’s Nick Powell.

Posh midfielder Danny Kearns has joined Rotherham on loan.
