Trial for Nicky Brett’s daughter
Several local bowlers have been selected for junior indoor and outdoor international trials, including Nicky Brett’s daughter Chloe who will be hoping to follow in her father’s footsteps. She has been selected for the England indoor under 18 trials that are being held at Rugby Thornfield on April 26 and there she will be joined by March’s Ben Chapman and Spalding pair Ruby Hill and Jordan Philpott.
There are no fewer than five players from Hunts involved in the England junior men’s and women’s international outdoor trials at Leamington on Monday, May 26.
White Hart pair Tristan Morton and Alex Walton will be hoping to retain their places in the team that defends the British junior men’s title in Ireland on the weekend of September 13/14, while another White Hart player, Ed Elmore, and Papworth’s Harry Ward seek their first caps.
Hannah Overton (Parkway) is the only local player in the junior women’s trial from which the team will be chosen to defend the British title in Ireland on July 18-20, although the format takes on a different look this year with individual disciplines – singles, pairs, triples and fours – replacing the usual four-rink team competition.
