Leading employer reaffirms commitment to city
A TV and broadband provider has reaffirmed its commitment to Peterborough with the opening of a new office in the city. Virgin Media has just transferred the 240 staff who were working at two separate offices in the city to a new state-ofthe-art unit.
ThenewofficesareatElmstead, Southgate Park, in Orton Southgate.
The previous offices were at Beechcraft and Appren- tice, which are both close to the new premises.
The new 21,600 sq ft offices were opened by Virgin Media’s chief executive Tom Mockridge.
He said the new centre will be an important hub for thecompany’sbusinessoperations, whichsupportsservices to businesses, small andlarge.
JulieAgnew, director, business customer operations at VirginMedia, said: “Wearedelighted to be bringing together our business operations to this modern facility.
“The move further strengthens ourcommitment to Peterborough as an important strategic location for Vir- gin Media Business.”
The new Elmstead office will be equipped with advanced digital infrastructure, whichwillbeusedbystaffand visitors to the site.

AspokeswomanforVirgin Media said that the company wasnot able to disclose financial details of acquiring and fitting out the new site.
