Only reputation keeps Rooney in the side

My call last week for Wayne Rooney to be axed from the England team prompted a mixed postbag... I agree completely re Rooney and I’ve been saying it for the last two years.
@Jimmy_Dean 666 Didn’t you watch the game against Russia, Swanny? Rooney shouldn’t have been subbed, let alone axed.
@KB127 It’s no coincidence that when Rooney was taken off against Russia England went to pot. No organisation, nobody who could retain the ball.
@Dines_11 Rooneywasthebestplayeron the pitch against Russia.
@mikeybourne You should stick to reporting on Posh pal. @Jona77 Spot on re Rooney @fat_controller I must be in need of serious counselling as I find myself agreeing with you once more Swanny. The sad fact is that all those fromtheBritish Isles face an early exit, although a couple may just make it out of the group stage. Rooney has been living on his over-hyped reputation for far to long, Dele Alli will find that the match officials will not be as lenient as they are at home with his attitude andniggling, several of Roy Hodgson’s preferred selections are not match fit, and the way Hodgson sets up his teams will be found out by the better teams in the competition.
@Snoozy Abso- bl oody- l utel y ! All Rooney brings to the party is a reminder of years of international underachievement!
