Health care firm to create 100 plus jobs

New arrival is a sign of vibrancy in city’s economy

More than 100 jobs are being created in Peterborou­gh with the arrival in the city of a health care company. National healthcare company Newcross Healthcare Solutions has just moved into offices in Broadway.

The company, which will be based in Broadway Court, specialise­s in providing personalis­ed care.

It plans to offer its services to a range of community and care homes in the Peterborou­gh area.

Steve Churches, Newcross regional manager, said: “We are delighted to be opening a branch in Peterborou­gh.

“The demand for our services continues to grow and this made the need for the Peterborou­gh branch very apparent.

“We are looking forward to bringing the Newcross standard of care to the local area.”

Sally Tebbs, business centre manager for Peterborou­gh, said: “This is an exciting time for Peterborou­gh.

“We will have lots of jobs opening up for care assistants, support workers and nurses in the coming weeks.

“So if you’re hardworkin­g and passionate about healthcare, call into the branch to see what opportunit­ies are available.”

The company says that flexible, permanent employment, which can be tailored to. individual needs, is on offer at Newcross.

There is an additional incentive of a £500 platinum welcome for all nurses who join or re-join the team.

News of the arrival of the job-creating Newcross comes as the number of people claiming Jobseeker’s Allowance in the city is falling.

Figures released by the Office for National Statistics show that the number of JSA claimants fell last month to 1,500 - down from 1,515 the previous month.

A year ago the number of JSA claimants stood at 2,400 people.

John Bridge, chief executive of Peterborou­gh Chamber of Commerce, said :“Peterborou­gh’s economy is vibrant and is hugely supportive of job creation.

“These new jobs are extremely welcome. Each one represents an opportunit­y for someone.”

A range of Peterborou­gh companies have announced the creation of jobs recently including Ma nasty Packaging, of Or ton South gate, Swanstaff Recruitmen­t, in St John’s Street, TV shopping channel Hochanda in Mancetter Square and supermarke­t Aldi.
