It is a real David v Goliath battle

-

Firstly, let me start by saying that if you don’t usually vote because you’re dissatisfied with politics and politicians, then so be it, and I can understand why you would normally have that view.

But the EU referendum is not about choosing between political parties, and if you normally avoid elections by not voting because you don’t trust them, you unwittingly make it easier for politicians to ride roughshod over your views.

No-one should be allowed to do so – especially not this time. On the other hand, others might say “It doesn’t affect me”, but I will argue that just for once it does.

Please, don’t let them think you don’t care, as they gain strength from that silence. This event will pitch the people in contest with politicians who cannot hide behind manifestos, and your option will simply be to consider who to trust the most.

Whilst I understand that you can’t choose who you are born to, in this country we have political leaders who do not and never will understand what it is like to be at the bottom of the economic ladder.

The same could be said of the elite of the European Union, who do not understand the issues facing the working British man and woman today and I would guess, nor do they really care.

Unwittingly, the country has been blinded by the political class in this country who say that the EU is our only hope and that there is no viable alternative.

Well, there is now, and it’s called Brexit. It was politicians that got us into this mess back in 1973, and successive governments have surrendered more and more of our parliamentary sovereignty. Because of that experience, I’m afraid I have a strong misgiving and fear that despite David Cameron’ ’s promise of reforms, you and d I are being conned like neverr before.

So, to heck with government opinion. This time it iss people against politicians, a real David v Goliath contest, and after 40 years of surren- dering our democracy we are e at the point on which we cann at last challenge the deceit off Project Europe.

However much that politi icians may already have givenn away, we now have a chance to give our verdict, and Werrington First hopes that Peterborough will fight the good fight.

We say it comes down to one simple choice - is our country called Britain or is it Europe? And we pray that to omorrow will bring a day with new strengths and new hope e.
