Inspection at crossroads where school bus overturned in crash

A crossroads where a school bus crashed has been inspected by road bosses. Addressing Parliament last Thursday, MP Tom Pursglove called on Northamptonshire County Council to review the safety of the Cotterstockcrossroadsfollowing the school bus crash earlier this month. Several children were taken to hospital following the incident andabout 20wereleft with minor injuries. County Council bosses say they have already carried out an inspection of the road and found it meets current standards. But in May local people had askedtheauthoritytorepaint road markings and replace road signs at the scene of the accident. A Northamptonshire County Council spokesman said: “The investigation into the cause of the accident at Cotterstock crossroads is still ongoing and we are assisting the police.” No arrests have been made.
