Surprise for Diamond couple

There was quite the surprise for Geoff and Lorna Mannning at their Diamond Wedding party with five children, 13 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and friends all ready to celebrate the special anniversary. Lorna (78) had an inkling what was going on, but Geoff (80) had no idea that he was going to a surprise party at the Ivy Leaf Club in Whittlesey. The couple, pictured at their home in Park Farm, met at Central Park when they were teenagers, with Geoff boasting that he would be a rich footballer one day. Geoff did enjoy playing and managing at a number of local clubs, and the couple both had a great time toasting 60 years of marriage. Daughter Denise (59) said: “It was absolutely fantastic. And dad could not get over the card from the Queen.”
