Talk from Laconia sinking survivor
Earlier this month visitors to Werrington Local History Group enjoyed a talk by Jane Harrison. She enlightened everyone about the changes that have taken place at Sacrewell, the issues involved in restoring this local heritage site and plans for the future. The next talk 0n Thursday, August 4, will see Josephine Pratchett present a talk entitled ‘I survived the sinking of the Laconia’. This is a rare opportunity to hear about an event from WWll from someone who was actually a part of it. The talk will take place at 7.30pm at Werrington Village Centre, Church Street. Visitors are welcome - £2.50 on the door.
