The world of work and commerce feature again in today’s selection of pictures. The picture top left is a scene from Freemans catalogue warehouse in Westwood, which was a major employer for many years in the city.

The next picture along is of staff from engineers Peter Brotherhoods which was taken some time in the 1950s.

Does anyone know anybody on the picture and what was the occasion?

The picture above left was takeninJune1929 and, accoringing to the caption, shows civic dignitaries opening an extension to Peterborough power station. The next picture along shows a thriving Market Place (now Cathedral Square) with the markettrad- ers doing aroaring trade but is not dated. The final picture of a group of womenandmentoday is a complete mystery and carries only thecaption“anoffice/works presentation’’!

If you have any information about any of the pictures please get in touch.
