The Elm Pool was just the job for Bob

Once again the Elm Lake on the Decoy complex was bang in form for the latest Conservati­ve Club match.

Leading the way was Bob Walker with 160lb 4oz off peg 16. He caught up in water on caster.

Despite l osing several good fish, John Parnell still managed a respectabl­e 150lb off peg 18 to finish second. He caught up in water on pellet.

Terry Tribe came in third with 149lb 9oz off peg eight.

JVAC

JVAC found themselves on the Damson Lake on Sunday.

Leading the way with 59lb 7oz was Lee Kendal, who caught a few better samples on meat and sweetcorn from peg four.

Second with 53lb 3oz was Jim Wilmot fishing the pole with caster followed by Dave Corcoran on 50lb 1oz.

OVER 55s

The Over 55s Decoy Open match fished on the Willows last Friday saw Stan Dow out in front from peg five taking fish on a short pole line with sweetcorn for 73lb 15oz.

Paul Thompson was second with 63lb 9oz, then it was Danny Carlton with 61lb 1oz.

SATURDAY & SUNDAY OPENS

A small, but very select field in the Decoy Lakes Saturday Open match on the prolific Beastie Lake saw March rod Barry Mason leading the way with 251lb 1oz.

Just missing out on the top spot was Jimmy Brooks with 248lb 15oz, then came Tom Edwards with 227lb 14oz.

The Sunday Open saw a switch to the Yew Pool, where after falling foul of the Decoy net rules the previous day, Simon Godfrey made a mends in this one topping the field with 193lb 9oz. The Whittlesey rod caught on caster shallow.

Alan Major came in second on 184lb 5oz, then came Mick Wiles with 178lb 6oz.

Tydd Gote AC, North Level Drain, Sunday: 1 Andy Greenwood 11lb 1 ½ oz; 2 Chris Lynn 9lb 15oz; 3 Rob Wright 8lb 7oz.
