Pedal power for Peterborough midwives

-

Peterborough midwives are preparing for a gruelling cycle ride to raise money for charity. Nikki Butler, clinical midwifery team leader at Peterborough City Hospital’s maternity department, is gearing up to take part in the 300-mile bike ride from London to Paris to raise money for UK charity, The Sick Children’s Trust. Nikki will start the 4-day journey from south London before making her way across the channel to cycle through the French countryside before finishing at the Eiffel Tower in Paris. She will be joined by midwives Kerri Melero and Jo Mahon who are taking part in the challenge for a different charity. Nikki said: “Four years ago, my son was born prematurely and was cared for at The Rosie Hospital in Cambridge. The Sick Children’s Trust not only supported me during a difficult time, but also provided accommodation at Chestnut House. I can’t praise the charity enough for their help and I am happy to say that my son is now a healthy four year old.”
