Three per cent rise for headline figure

At Thomas Deacon Academy, 52 per cent of pupils achieved A *- C in both English and maths.

Pupils who attained the highest grades include Devesh Erda, with eight A*s, three As and one B, and Annie Cavanagh, who achieved nine A*s and three As.

Geoff Walls, principal, said: “We are very pleased that 52 per cent of students achieved A*-C in both English and maths as this represents a three per cent increase on last year’s attainment headline figure.

“Students and staff at TDA have worked very hard to achieve such encouragin­g outcomes and should feel proud that their efforts have been rewarded.”
