Last month Peter­bor­ough sec­ondary schools, si xth forms and teenagers were all cel­e­brat­ing as GCSEandAlevel re­sults were re­leased.

Peter­bor­ough stu­dents achieved some of the city’s best ever GCSE re­sults with more chil­dren than ever be­fore achiev­ing A* to C in English.

In to­tal 69.7 per cent of stu­dents achieved A* to C in English - up from 64 per cent in 2015. There was also a rise in the num­ber of A* to C maths grades, with 61.2 per cent of stu­dents achiev­ing at this level, com­pared to 60 per cent last year.

At A level, Peter­bor­ough’s pupils re­mained above the na­tional av­er­age for passes, but there was a dip in per­cent­age of re­sults graded A* to B. Across Peter­bor­ough, the over­all pass rate climbed 0.1 per cent to 98.3,with the na­tional av­er­age pass rate re­main­ing at 98.1per cent.
