A carnival atmosphere

-

Today’s pictures are from t he Gladstone Carnival held at the Marcus Garvey in Cromwell Road around 1983.

Do you remember anyone or were you there? Let me know via www.chrisporsz.com

That’s what David Foley did. He was a Warrant Officer in my recent parade picture and joined us for the reunion in August.

He told me: “VIPs were at the time of the parade: AOCnC of RAF Strike Command, who went onto become Chief of the Defence Staff: Marshal of the Royal Air Force. Lord Craig of Radley.

“Lady Craig was also a guest at the Freedom Ceremony as per the photo.

“Also pictured were First Gunner Derek Summers then it’s Ken Jones and Paddy Willoughby.”
