Fine is a surprise

There has been much debate and some disagreement on the sentence pased on Yasmin Kauser following the collision which saw a bus crash into the front of a building in Broadway, Peterborough. To be given a fine that amounts to the cost of a course that follows a low level speeding offence for an accident that caused such injury and destruction has shocked many. But it is also true that ‘there but for the grace of God’ many others might go. That said, there will be many motorists reading this week’s story who will have been fined more for an error that caused far less damage. >Mark Edwards >@PT Mark Edwards
