Police appeal to trace two men and a Renault car
Police have released CCTV images of two men they want to trace after a woman was raped in Peterborough. The victim, a woman in her 40s, was raped in the Oundle Roadareabetween3.15amand 4.30am on July 23 following a night out.
Detectives investigating theattackhavealso released CCTV of a vehicle, believed to be a silver or grey Renault Megane 2 estate produced between 2003 and 2009. Officers say the driver of the vehicle may have vital information to assist the investigation.
The images show the men and the car police want to trace in the Woodston area of the city.
Detective Sergeant Vikki Goddard said: “We’re urging the driver of the vehicle and the two men in the CCTV images to contact us. We also appeal to anyone who recognises them or who saw them that night to get in touch. No detail is insignificant and you may have vital information to help the investigation.
“We hope that the CCTV images and officers on patrol in the area may help to jog someone’s memory about somethingtheysawthatcould help us to catch the offender.”
Along with releasing the CCTV footage, police officers were also handing out leaflets featuring the images inBridge Street and onOundleRoadon MondayandTuesday of this week. DS Goddard said they had been given new information as a result of the street patrols this week.
