Recipe for suc­cess at school

A Peter­bor­ough spe­cial school cooked up a recipe for suc­cess dur­ing a healthy eat­ing week. Marsh­fields Spe­cial School held the event last term - and were re­warded with a £1,000 prize from the Bri­tish Nu­tri­tion Foun­da­tion for their ef­forts. Food teacher Ali­son Ca­vanagh, pic­tured with Maya Clay­don and Louis Hep­pell, said: “We did lots of work with our stu- dents on healthy eat­ing and liv­ing - we man­aged to raise £500 for the Bri­tish Heart Foun­da­tion with some of our ac­tiv­i­ties, and also did art, zumba and sci­ence classes, as well as a Ready Steady Cook event, which saw teach­ers paired with pupils. “We were in­spired by the Bri­tish Nu­tri­tion Foun­da­tion, and sub­mit­ted a re­port to them. We won one of ten prizes avail­able across the coun­try.”
