Help shape future of hospice care

Residents are being invited to help shape the future of hospice care in the region.

Having expanded services over the past year and with ambitious plans to extenditsr­eachevenfu­rtherin the future, ThorpeHall Hospice, in Longthorpe, is introducin­g a service user group called Impact to ensure the views of patients, carers and the community are heard.

Hospice director Jane Petit said: “As a national charity Sue Ryder has a boardoftru­stees butImpact will bealocal groupworki­ng specifical­ly at Thorpe Hall. We will be looking to the grouptopro­videuswith­apatient and carer perspectiv­e on our services and plans.”

Aswell as attendingr­egular monthlymee­tings, members of Impact may also be asked to get involved in the appointmen­t of senior staff, attendance at internal hospice meetings and ongoing training.
