Apprentices are shortlisted for awards

Two apprentices from Peterborough have been shortlisted for a prestigious regional award.
Both are final year apprentices at Peterborough’s Perkins Engines and are in the running for EEF Apprentice Awards at this year’s EEF Future Manufacturing Awards.
Theshortlisted apprentices are Sophie Graham (20) of Stanground, and Joseph Wilson (21) also of Stanground.
They were selected along with 16 other apprentices from across the Midlands after impressing judges with their hard work, dedication and determination to pursue a career in manufacturing.
The apprentices will find out whohasbeencrownedregional winneronNovember7.
If successful, they will go on to compete for a national title.
Sophie said: “It’s an honour to have been shortlisted for this award. I know how hard-working and dedicated each and every apprentice is so I am delighted to have been recognised in this way.”
Joseph said: “My apprenticeship has opened up doors and I can see a clear path to workinginasectorthatIenjoy and where I feel my achievements are valued.”
