The Peterborough Evening Telegraph
Highest rating for city association
A Peterborough housing association has been given the highest rating from the government’s housing regulator. Cross Keys Homes, based in Shrewsbury Avenue, says it is delighted by the report from the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA), following a recent in-depth assessment. During the summer, the HCA, carried out its assessment to ensure the association is well governed and financially viable. The rigorous process involved HCA representatives examining all aspect of the association’s business plan, risk profile, exposures, overall financial strengths and the quality of its governance. The association supplied 70 individual documents to the regulator for them to be reviewed and triangulated. Claire Higgins, the association’s chief executive, said: “This is fantastic news for us all at Cross Keys, especially given the challenges the housing sector is currently facing. “It is a real testament to the hard work of our boards and employees, and highlights the ways in which we are getting it right for our partners, investors and customers. “It also means we face the future with a sound foundation and will be able to continue with our plans to build at least 400 homes per year, as well as delivering our life enhancing services. She added: “We are truly delighted with the outcome.”
