Lucky no-one killed in bus collision

-

The driver at the wheel of a double decker bus that went through a red light and crashed into a Peugeot car has kept his driving licence and was given a fine of £147. Philip Onions (21) had been a bus driver for 13 months and was responsible for a number of passengers including school children. Thankfully no-one was seriously hurt in the accident, and that is extremely fortunate because dashcam footage of the crash taken from the Peugeot, which can be viewed on our website, shows what a sickening impact it was and just how lucky it was that no-one was killed or seriously injured. He lost his job and Mr Onions was remorseful and, it is true, anyone can make a mistake. But many might think keeping his licence and a fine that amounts to less than a couple of speeding tickets was a modest punishment for this terrifying incident.
