Football’s most horrible player

Now that Robbie Savage has long retired, it’s a toss-up between Joey Barton (above) and Diego Costa as to who is the most obnoxious current professional footballer. As Costa still plays at the highest level and is reasonably successful at a top club, Barton must be the clear front-runner. His own opinion of his ability and influence is so far removed from reality, his impending autobiography, could easily be filed under fiction. By all accounts the Scottish Premier League has been beyond Barton’s level so far this season which might have contributed to his outburst at team-mates and management staff that led to his suspension from Ibrox this week. Let’s hope the suspension becomes permanent and covers all football.
