Road shut for man’s safety

The A1(M) was closed northbound on Tuesday evening as police had concerns over the safety of a man. Cambridgeshire police were called at about 6.15pm to the A1(M) near Sawtry. The road was closed on the northbound carriageway, and temporary speed limits were imposed southbound while officers detained a man under the Mental Health Act. A police spokesperson said the man has now been transferred to hospital.
