Move Elton John to Embankment

-

In all the euphoria surrounding the recently announced Elton John Concert in June 2017 at the ABAXStadium, has anyone, A BA X or the City Council, given any thought to the considerable noise and inconvenience the holding of this event will cause to the thousands of residents who live within the environs of the stadium?

Why couldn’t this event be held on the Embankment?

This venue has been good enough for previous concerts, e.g.Bry an Adams recently, and causes minimal disturbance to residential neighbourhoods.

I’mnotakill-joy, in fact, I’m an Elton John fan.

If this event goes ahead, it is to be hoped that strict noise limits are laid down, to be monitored throughout the event, and a cut-off time of 11pm for close down is imposed.

If further events of this type are planned for Peterborough, then the need for a proper concert venue, either fully enclosed or, if open, sited well away from residential areas, becomes all the more urgent. Tony Newton
