Vogal Group sets up new home in £2.5 million move
An engineering company’s head office in Peterborough has been put up for sale as the firm prepares to expand. Regent House, which wasthe headofficeoftheVogalGroup, in Welbeck Way, Woodston, has been put on the market by commercial agents Savills with a price tag of £425,000.
The sale is part of the mechanicalandelectrical installation specialist’s £2.5 million move to a purpose-built unit on Kingston Park in Fletton.
The two-storey detached property comprises ground and first floor office accommodation, workshop and storage space totaling 3,723 sq ft.
ChairmanBenAtkinssaid: “This is a really exciting time for us.”
He said it is hoped to double the company’s turnover from about £7 million to £14 million over the next two years.
There will also be an increase in the 90 members of staff.

AThe rules relating to an employer’s obligation to pay Statutory Sick Pay are set out in the Statutory Sick Pay (General) Regulations 1982 and the Social Security Contributions and Benefits Act 1992.
If the employee does not comply they will not be entitled to receive Statutory Sick Pay. The rules apply only where the employee has been absent as a result of sickness for four or more consecutive days.
An employee is not entitled to receive pay for the first three days of absence.
Thereafter it is a requirement that the employee notifies the employer within seven days of becoming unfit for work. This will involve the production of a Fit Note (formally knownasamedicalcertificate).
Uponreceipttheemployer is obliged to pay the Statutory Sick Pay provided that the Fit Note is sent within the required time period. If the employeefailstoprovideitwithin seven days there is no obligation on the employer to pay SSP. The rules are complex and it is always advisable to seek legal advice before withholding any such payment.
