Awe­some four­some for Hope

Pe­ter­bor­ough Triathlon Club (PACTRAC) mem­ber Steve Hope com­pleted his per­sonal “Eey­ore Challenge” of four long dis­tance races abroad in four con­sec­u­tive week­ends when com­plet­ing the Basel Marathon in Switzerland in 3:46:47 at the week­end.

“Orig­i­nally it was sup­posed to be four half-marathons,” said Hope, “but some­how I got per­suaded to turn two of them into full marathons. It ‘s beenav­ery en­joy­able month.”

His other three races were:

04/09 Har­lem HalfMarathon, Hol­land 1:39:02

11/09 Ypres Marathon, Bel­gium 3:59:46

18/09 Belfast Half-Marathon, N.Ire­land 1:40:09

PACTRAC re­sults:

Iron­man Wales, Tenby (swim 2.4 miles, bike 112 miles, run 26.2 miles): 1285 Tony Mo­ran 14:47:13 (age group 201). BRJ Duathlon, Ab­bots Rip­ton (run 3 miles, bike 12.5 miles, run 3 miles): 37 Paul Jeph­cott 77:09; 48 Rob Stokes 79:36. Roade Triathlon, near Northamp­ton (swim 414 me­tres, bike 12 miles, run 3 miles): 96 Ni­cholas Par­tridge 76.46; 165 Debora Leininger 90.03. Bri­tish Long Dis­tance Swim­ming Cham­pi­onships, River Great Ouse, Lynn Regis (2.8km): Amy Mel­lor 2nd fe­male.
