Church to host fashion evening

-

A church in Yaxley invites the ladies of Peterborough to enjoy ‘A Stylish Christmas’ all in aid of a good cause.

This December, St Peter’s Church, is hosting an evening of style and fashion to provide a ladies’ event to kick-start the festive season. In partnership with Style Peg, Peterborough’s newest styling company, the event will take place on December 9 and is set to be an evening of style demos, fashion talks and fun.

There will be opportunities to peruse a number of festive fashion and jewellery stalls while enjoying a free glass of bubbly and a mincepie. The event will also include special guest speakers including BBC presenter Diane Louise Jordan, fashion designer and lecturer at De Mont fort University Sally- AnnBest, as well as the founder of StylePeg, Alex Agboke.

Speaking about the event, Alex said: “We live in a world where a woman’s worth is largely judged upon her physical appearance. We have been designed for beauty but our style should be simple personal and affordable. This event is all about showing women how they can achieve this for themselves so they can get on with their day feeling and looking fabulous but also knowing that their worth is not defined by who and what they wear.”

Th e Rev Jon Randall, vicar of St Peter’s Church, added: “We look forward to continuing to welcome our local community this Christmas. This unique event will really open the doors to provide the women of Peterborough with a wonderful opportunity to enjoy an evening of fashion – something we’ve never done before! And it’s all in aid of a great cause.”

All the money raised from the evening will go to Daugh- ters of Cambodia, which is a Christian charity working to help women gain their freedom from the sex industry. The evening will start at 7.30pm and tickets cost £10. These can be bought online by searching for ‘A Stylish Christmas’ on EventBrite. co.uk or can be purchased on the door.
