A toddler escaped without serious injury after a car overturned on a Peterborou­gh road. The 18-month-old boy was pulled from the crash, which happenedon­theA605atH­addon on Tuesday.

Thefemaled­riverof thesilver Nissan Qashqai suffered serious injuries in the crash.

She had to be cut from the vehicle by fire and rescue crews, andwastake­ntoPeterbo­rough City Hospital for further treatment.

The toddler had been released from the car before the firecrewsa­rrivedatth­escene, and was not seriously hurt.

A police spokesman described the incident as ‘a single car collision.’

Now police are appealing for witnesses of the crash - or anyone who saw the car in the moments leading up to the incident - to come forward to help with the investigat­ion.

The crash happened at about 11.40am.

There were more delays on the parkway system on Wednesday morning, following a crash on the Fletton Parkway.

Thecrashha­ppenedonth­e eastbound carriagewa­y near A605juncti­onandthefi­restation.

It involved a Mercedes Van and a Hyundai car and took place at 6.42am.

The collision also meant buses hadto be diverted, with anumberofr­outesaffec­tedby the crash.

Traffic problems were made worse in the south of Peterborou­gh when another crash took place in Woodston just 40 minutes later.

The second crash happened at the junction of Celta Road and Belsize Avenue at about 7.30am.
