A toddler escaped without serious injury after a car overturned on a Peterborough road. The 18-month-old boy was pulled from the crash, which happenedontheA605atHaddon on Tuesday.
Thefemaledriverof thesilver Nissan Qashqai suffered serious injuries in the crash.
She had to be cut from the vehicle by fire and rescue crews, andwastakentoPeterborough City Hospital for further treatment.
The toddler had been released from the car before the firecrewsarrivedatthescene, and was not seriously hurt.
A police spokesman described the incident as ‘a single car collision.’
Now police are appealing for witnesses of the crash - or anyone who saw the car in the moments leading up to the incident - to come forward to help with the investigation.
The crash happened at about 11.40am.
There were more delays on the parkway system on Wednesday morning, following a crash on the Fletton Parkway.
Thecrashhappenedonthe eastbound carriageway near A605junctionandthefirestation.
It involved a Mercedes Van and a Hyundai car and took place at 6.42am.
The collision also meant buses hadto be diverted, with anumberofroutesaffectedby the crash.
Traffic problems were made worse in the south of Peterborough when another crash took place in Woodston just 40 minutes later.
The second crash happened at the junction of Celta Road and Belsize Avenue at about 7.30am.

Therewerenoseriousinjuries in either of the two rushhourcrashes, but muchofthe south of the city’s road network was brought to a halt as motorists tried to find routes aroundthetwoincidents, and diversions were set up.
