A woman has been sexually assaulted in a city underpass –just three months after a woman was raped in the same subway. The latest incident took place at the underpass between Carr Road and North Bank Road, which leads to the McDonalds at Boongate between 5am and 6am.

Thevictimw­asapproach­ed andassault­edbytwomen­who had a dog with them.

Thetwomena­redescribe­d bythevicti­masbeingag­edbetween 21 and 40 years of age. One was wearing grey tracksuit bottoms and a black jacket.

The other is described as wearing dark clothes. The men had a dog with them but it is not known what breed.

Police declined to reveal the suspected ethnic origin of the two suspects.

InSeptembe­rawomanwas raped in the same underpass.

The victim of that attack, a woman in her 30s, was walkingalo­ngPadholme­Roadfrom Cavendish Street at about 9.30pm on Tuesday, September 6.

She was approached by a man in a dark people carrier, who tried to speak to her through the car window.

Around 20 minutes into her walk she saw the vehicle parked up on the side of the road.

The victim continued to walk down North Bank Road before stopping at somegreen land, where she was grabbed from behind and pulled into a bush.

The victim recognised the manasbeing­thesameper­son from the car who assaulted and raped her before fleeing.

Thesuspect­wasdescrib­ed as5’4, andof middleeast­ernof east Asian appearance.

Police have said the twoinciden­ts are not being linked at this stage.
