Charity fund passes £500,000 milestone

Constructi­on supplier delighted at fundraisin­g success

Bosses at constructi­on industry supplier Mick George say they are delighted with the success of its community fund campaign. Thesecondr­oundoftheM­ick George Community Fund has just ended with £275,000 distribute­d to community projects and initiative­s. It takes the total donated this year to £500,000.

The projects awarded spanthreec­ountiesand­serve variousspo­rtandcommu­nity ventures.

Jon Stump, finance director at Mick George, said: “Being able to provide support at anylevelis­immenselys­atisfy- ing, but for us to reach such levels this year is a tremendous effort for all involved.

“Over the years the business has been fortunate to be involved with some wonder- ful projectsth­athaveposi­tively contribute­d towards the community. When selecting applicants, we try to vary the sectors and regions that will benefit.”

The fund’s success tops a great year for the firm during which it has gone from strength to strength, posting impressive results andclaimin­g a number of accolades.

The fact that you will lose your job isn’t one of those exceptiona­l factors.
