Peterborough and Stamford NHS Hospital Foundation Trust will have a new name when it merges with Hinchingbrooke Health Care NHS Trust. Unless you’re a lizard those names don’t exactly trip off the tongue. You might have thought both trusts would have grasped the opportunity to go for a snappy new name perhaps along the lines of The We’re Very Busy Go Ask Your Mum To Kiss It Better NHS Trust . But no, they’ve come up with North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust. Pardon? Anglia, is of course the ancient name for England so North West Anglia mightbe a good name for a hossy in Manchester but for Peterborough and Huntingdon it’s nonsensical.
