THURLBY

-

Hundreds of residents i n Thurlby are now benefiting from a new outdoor seating area.

The community, in the village near Bourne, have received the new community area courtesy of South Kesteven’s Community Fund.

The new facility is located adjacent to the village’s playing fields. It will give lo- cal residents the opportunity to watch games played by the dozens of local sports club members during poor weather. It will also be used as a meeting point for events and activities, by pet owners and their dogs, and those taking a stroll around the playing fields or enjoying it as shade from the sun in the summer.

Leader of South Kesteven District Council and Executive Member for Growth, Councillor Bob Adams said: “It’s great to see that the facility hasalreadybeenusedbyso many people in Thurlby and the surrounding area. When the fund was set up, successful grants have had to demonstrate how they would have a widercommunitybenefitand this is anexcellent example of aproject that hasdoneexactly that. I commend the group’s foresight to recognise, apply for andinstall a facility that so manypeoplecanenjoybenefit from.”
