Engineer secures Rising Star award
An engineer with a leading Peterborough company has just won a prestigious award. Michael Dunstan, a plater welder team leader and recently-graduated apprentice at Perkins Engines, has been presented with a Rising Star award. It was awarded by the EEF’s National Future Manufacturing Awards 2017, after winning the Midlands Region Final Year Apprentice Award last November. He was up against other high-achieving apprentices from companies such as Nestle, Marshall Aerospace and Bentley. Robert Walker, facility manager at Perkins’ Peterborough site, said: “Michael is very aware of the pride that the company has in his performance. “This recognition of a rising star will add to his already impressive profile.”
