Engineer secures Rising Star award

An engineer with a leading Peterborou­gh company has just won a prestigiou­s award. Michael Dunstan, a plater welder team leader and recently-graduated apprentice at Perkins Engines, has been presented with a Rising Star award. It was awarded by the EEF’s National Future Manufactur­ing Awards 2017, after winning the Midlands Region Final Year Apprentice Award last November. He was up against other high-achieving apprentice­s from companies such as Nestle, Marshall Aerospace and Bentley. Robert Walker, facility manager at Perkins’ Peterborou­gh site, said: “Michael is very aware of the pride that the company has in his performanc­e. “This recognitio­n of a rising star will add to his already impressive profile.”
