As part of the National Gardens Scheme, 90 years ago 600 gardens raised £8,000 for district nurses. Last year, 3,800 gardens raised a record breaking £3.5million for charities including Macmillan Cancer Support, Marie Curie and Hospice UK. Willow Holt, Willow Hall Lane, Thorney, Peterborou­gh, PE6 0QN is a two acre garden on the wild side, with ponds, meadow and lots of plants and is open May 28/29 11am5pm. £4. 9&11 Church Street, Northborou­gh. A cottage garden with flowers, vegetables, fruit trees and chickens, and a mature family garden of an old vicarage. Open May 29, 1-5pm. £4.
