Wisbech are going great guns on two fronts.

They made it five wins on the trot in the Rutland League on Sunday to increase their lead at the top of Division One and 24 hours earlier they overcame Godmanchester to go joint second in Division One of the Cambs League.

The Rutland League win came at home against struggling Nassington, who were dismissed for a paltry 103.

Wisbech raced home in 15.5 overs with just one wicket down.

Brodie Ellis (2-12), Parth Patel (2-12), Dan Oldfield (2-20) and Gary Freear (2-8) did the damage with the ball for Wisbech and then Dom Stannard (48) and Danny Haynes (40no) completed the job.

The Fenlanders won by two wickets at at home to Godmanchester after seeing Tariq Aziz post a polished ton for the visitors. He struck 12 fours and a six in his 114 to steer Godmanchester to a formidable 233-6.

Openers Gary Freear (48) and Danny Haynes (39) got the Wisbech reply off to a reasonable start before a lusty 55 off Andy Larkin scored a century for Ufford Park. 47 balls by Jamie Gollands and a late bash of 34 by Paul Edgeller got Wisbech home with a couple of overs to spare.

Cambs League leaders Ketton continued their impressive run with a four-wicket win at home to Eaton Socon.

Zeeshan Manzoor blasted 100 not out off 73 balls, clubbing six sixes and 11 fours as Ketton overhauled Eaton Socon’s 193-8 in 29.1 overs.

There were two more century-makers for local sides in the Cambs League.

In Division One, Jordan Cafferkey made 123 off 144 balls for Ramsey in a win against Saffron Walden, while in Division Two, Ufford Park’s Andy Larkin led the way with 101 in a win at Cambridge St Giles.

It was all change at the foot of the Lincolnshire Premier Division table as Market Deeping and Spalding both secured their first victories of the season while Louth suffered at the hands of leaders Bracebridge Heath and now lie bottom.

Spalding jumped three places to eighth after taking advantage of Alford’s good batting track to notch up 273 for nine. Faisal Javed hit 94, Josh Newton 63 and Luke Hollingworth 52.

Javed then completed a man-of-the-match performance, taking six wickets as Alford were all out for 167.

Market Deeping won a much lower scoring game at Grimsby to move off the bottom of the table.

They bowled out their hosts for 100 thanks to a good bowling spell from Ashley Fisher, who took six for 42, and then batted their way to a seven-wicket win. Nick Lawton took 6-15.
