Second order to begin in August

A second Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) is set to begin in August, with fines of £80 for people who breach it.

The PSPO will cover the areas of Millfield, New England, Gladstone, parts of Park Ward (Eastfield), Lower Bridge Street and East Ward (Embankment). A spokeswoman for the city’s Prevention and Enforcement Service said: “We expect enforcement of our second PSPO to begin in early August, however the exact date is yet to be agreed.”

Under the PSPO, offences will include littering, spitting and failing to dispose of alcohol or disperse from an area if requested to do so by an authorised officer.
