Exhibition and a demonstration
July 8 saw the start of the Patronal Art Exhibition showing the work of members of the Castor and Ailsworth Society of Art together with paintings submitted in competition by members of Castor Primary School.
A total of 72 paintings and four castles were submitted and the prizewinners were Charlie Clipsham, George Dooley, Ruby Hynes, Megan Stockhill, Eve Douglas, Toby Carnaffan and Florence Wilding. Well done to everyone at Castor Primary School.
The Annual Exhibition of 107 paintings attracted 300 visitors. All were invited to select their favourite painting and the winner was Joy Harbour with her stunning watercolour of an Italian cafe in brilliant sunshine, with Una Wiliams, a March Hare, and Pauline Wheatley, a Bluebell Wood, coming second and third.
The chosen artist for July was Peter Barker, RSMA, from Uppingham, who gave a two-hour demonstration using oil.
