All rise to the Court KO cup finalists

Court Gimme a Break and Court Snapbacks will contest the final of the Jet Wednesday Knockout Cup after completing easy semifinal wins.

Court Gimme A Break hosted against an improving PSL Ain’t Going Down side and won the first two sessions 4-1 before Carl Watkins wrapped up an 8-2 victory in the 10th frame.

Rob Mills and Kris Lord were the frame winners for PSL.

It was even easier for Snapbacks against Parkway. John Roe won the first frame for Parkway, but Snapbacks won the next nine to complete a 9-1 win.

Sean Hackett’s ‘break and dish’ sealed victory in style.

The final will take place on August 23 and will be screened live on the competitio­n’s YouTube channel.

The Stanground Carpets & Flooring Thursday League’s featured YouTube live-stream match was between Court Posties and Quinns Muppets.

This was an absorbingl­y close match with the Muppets just shading each of the first two sessions 3-2.

Moving into the final session, Darren Hope and Ryan Reed took a frame each for the Posties to tie the match nicely at 6-6.

With both teams then taking a frame each, the match went in to a deciding final frame with Len Donnelly securing the win for Quinns Muppets to move them up a spot in the table to fourth.

Top of the table Court Gold took on the Heron Warlords and predictabl­y won comfortabl­y.

Gold won all three sessions including ‘break and dish’ wins from Ben Bushby and Sam Boome to move further clear at the top. Warlords dropped to sixth.

Court Larking About have retained third spot in the table despite losing away at Bluebell R Back.

Bluebell were 6-4 up by the end of the second session which also included a ‘break & dish’ by Larking About’s Ben Prowen.

Bluebell then heaped further misery on the Court team by taking four frames out of the last five, including a ‘break & dish’ by Luke Watkins.

Bottom club PSL Lions were beaten 10-5 at Court By The Cops who are next to bottom.

Stephen Edgley was among the winners for Lions as Cops surged clear in the final session of the match.
