From Hi-De-Hi to blue skies’

A journey of a traditional chalet park modernised for the 21st century

-

When we think of a traditional UK holiday park or chalet style holiday we would have previously thought of the sitcom/ comedy series ‘Hi –De-Hi!. For many years this is the general connotation and perception of what a UK holiday break may have been like from the late 1950’s onwards after the post-world war II boom of a seaside holiday.

Mablethorpe Chalet & Caravan Park was first constructed in the 1960’s (with the chalets being painted in 60’s colour palettes of red and yellow!), since then the park has been enjoyed by many holidaying guests and happy chalet & caravan owners over the decades whilst creating many memories at the park and that of excursions to the attractions the miles of golden sands has to offer. In 2013 the park was acquired by Tingdene for £2.7 million

Since its acquisition Tingdene has invested in excess of £500,000+ into the park. The obvious change allowing chalet owners to modernize their chalets by working to modern colour schemes with hues of browns and creams as well as adding contemporary external timber decking’s.

Tingdene also provided new opportunities for existing and new chalets owners to sign up to a Residential Lease, meaning that a mixed use opportunity has been provided, some owners choosing to make their bolt hole by the sea their main residence whilst others continue to use their chalet for relaxing weekends and summer stays. The obvious benefit for leasehold residential use and ‘living by the sea’ has seen an increase in value of the chalets and they currently attract a greater sales price then when operated on a seasonally restricted annual license. The little red and yellow chalets are now proving to be a sound property investment whilst providing greater protection and security through property law and The Landlord & Tenant Act. Many existing chalet owners have sold their homes and downsized to enjoy living at the coast.

Tingdene continue to refurbish the park facilities with a new look bar & restaurant, convenience shop, owners reception and park office. The park has also seen improvements in landscaping, and a new park wide wi-fi system.

Chalet & Caravan owners also enjoy their own exclusive website with a UK wide list of benefits/ discounts and online news feed whilst also being able to view their holiday property account online and pay bills at their own convenience.

2017 has seen the launch of a further new caravan pitch developments enabling caravan owners with caravans at other operators and locations to move to the park. Tingdene have also made purchasing that little bit easier with guaranteed finance packages (*subject to lending criteria).

344 chalet owners and 90 existing caravan owners can’t be wrong? Why not take a look for yourself and get the most from the coast with Tingdene.
