Postie Pats fail to deliver on a night to forget

-

Postie Pats had a night to forget when visiting Court Gimme A Break in the Peterborough World Rules Pool League.

The Jet Wednesday League strugglers were hoping to lift themselves off the bottom of the table in the YouTube Livestream match but it all went pear-shaped as they lost the first 10 frames with Beckie Watkins securing the win in the eighth frame.

New signing Mick Sell and Martyn Allen gained consolation wins in the 11th and 15th frames for the Posties, who are now four points adrift at the foot of the table.

An all-Court affair between the Jesters and At The Bar was won 9-6 by the tabletopping Jesters.

There was nothing in it going into the final five frames but Jesters then moved up a gear to take four of them, which included a ‘break & dish’ by Darren Hope.

Parkway hosted Court Snapbacks and this match proved to be a real battle.

Parkway stamped their authority on proceedings by taking the first session 4-1 only to see the Snapbacks return the favour leaving it level going in to the final session.

James Harford put Parkway back in front only then for the Snapbacks Jamie Stokes to level things up again.

Parkway went back in front through Craig Scothern but were pegged back again by Snapbacks Shane Wood.

Pressure was now on in the 15th frame decider where Snapbacks clinched victory through Scott Beasley.

PSL Aint Going Down saw their recent good form come to an end when losing 10-5 away to the Court Kids, whose Ryan Anderson produced a ‘break & dish’.

It was cup final night in the Thursday League as Cross Keys Silver and Court Gold battled it out for the Jet Thursday KO Cup in the YouTube Live-stream match.

Cross Keys set the early pace by going 3-0 up but Court Gold responded by then taking the next three frames to square things up. Luke Wilkinson put Silver ahead once again only for Gold’s Andy Bunton to bring proceedings back to level pegging.

Just as a pattern was starting to appear, Gold showed exactly why they are top of the league by kicking in once again and taking the next three frames in a row, heaping the pressure back on their opposition.

Silver’s Luke Wilkinson started to close the gap with a good frame to peg it back to 7-5 but Gold’s Joel Scott stepped up to win the match in style with a superb ‘break & dish’.
