- By Brad Barnes

Funhouse Comedy Club, which already runs successful nights at various venues all over the country, is to launch a brand new comedy night at Peterborough’s Broadway, on September 7.

Funhouse Comedy Clubs are renowned for having exceptionally friendly audiences and a brilliant atmosphere which have led to twice winning Best Midlands Comedy Club awards with leading comedy website Chortle. Previous acts to have played its clubs include Sarah Millican, Russell Kane, Jack Whitehall and Rhod Gilbert.

Headlining the launch is slightly camp, middle-class funnyman Hal Cruttenden.

Having a background in professional acting, he has made numerous TV appearances, including ‘Live at The Apollo’, ‘Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow’, ‘The Royal Variety Performance’, ‘The Rob Brydon Show’, ‘Lets Dance for Comic Relief ’, ’Would I Lie To You’, ’Sunday Night at the Palladium’, ‘Mock The Week’, ’The Great British Bake Off – Extra Slice’, ‘Celebrity Squares’, and ‘Pointless Celebrities’. With his ability to mix the personal, the surreal, the ridiculous and the political, he delivers an energetic and fascinating performance.

Supporting will be Canadian born Tanyalee Davis who has appeared on ‘Live At The Apollo’ and ‘The John Bishop Show’, worked on “Austin Powers 3: Goldmember” movie teaser and also appeared in the film, “For the Love of Money”. Standing 3’ 6’’ small, she is known as ‘the little lady with a lot of BIG laughs, recounting tales of her views on people and how they see her, she has a persistence that makes it impossible not to laugh.

Compere for the night is the quirky James Dowdeswell who has appeared on ‘Russell Howard’s Good News’, ‘Celebrity Deal Or No Deal’ and Ricky Gervais’ ‘Extras’.
